Ras Al Khaimah occupied a different position in the UAE hierarchy for decades. Lower land costs, slower pace, measured growth. That calculation changed when the Wynn Al Marjan Island resort was announced — the first licensed gaming destination in the Arab world, with a $3.9 billion development footprint on a man-made island in the Arabian Gulf.

Developers moved quickly. BNW Developments launched waterfront towers. Danube brought its model to RAK for the first time. Land prices on Al Marjan Island rose 40 percent in twelve months. International capital that had been concentrated in Dubai began diversifying northward.

The infrastructure followed: airport expansion, the E11 corridor upgrade, marina development, and a hospitality pipeline that now spans Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental, and Anantara alongside the Wynn complex.
